Monique Lappas

CEO

In 2012, Monique had to make the decision that many of us face – Asking herself, “how do I maintain a career, be the best parent I can be and balance it all while staying sane and enjoying each day and the challenges it brings?”.

It was during this decision process that she decided to move out of the finance industry and start exploring other career options. She made a move to Florida, and began working with Paquin Healthcare (now iRemedy) as a healthcare consultant, focusing on the retail and consumer healthcare industries.

Jennifer Borland, RN, BSN

Chief of Staff

Jennifer is a Registered Nurse with over 15 years of experience in the healthcare industry. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Florida Atlantic University. Her career in healthcare spans from the Acute Care Hospital Setting to Medicare-Certified Home Health. Jennifer’s responsibilities included managing Medicare Compliance, Quality Improvement, Business Development, Clinical Operations, and Personnel. Jennifer joined the Qualify Health team in 2022 as the Chief of Staff. With her extensive experience leading top-quality teams in highly regulated healthcare settings, Jennifer is responsible for empowering staff to elevate Patient Advocacy to a higher level. As a busy mom of 2 boys, you will find her enjoying one of many sporting events in her free time.

Kelly Sanders

VP Operations

Kelly is a Florida native and has worked in the healthcare industry for the past nine years. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration from Indian River State College and has previously applied her knowledge and skills as the Administrator of an outpatient/home health care facility. This position provided her with extensive knowledge in practice administration, billing, insurance prior authorizations and collections. Kelly has managed teams of up to 20 clinicians while ensuring they adhere to all healthcare procedures, methods and best practices.

Additionally, she has experience as the Operations Manager of a staffing pool and outpatient consulting firm where she managed all day-to-day operations including revenue management, Human Resources, consulting services and survey preparations for outpatient therapy facilities.

Kelly focuses on maintaining a cohesive environment for team members and patients. Kelly’s professional philosophy – “developing strong relationships is the foundation to everything I do, both personally and professionally.”

Peter Letarte

VP Go To Market Solutions

Peter Letarte, VP Go To Market Solutions at Qualify Health, brings over 12 years of experience in the healthcare industry, primarily with Huron Consulting Group. He has successfully led a variety of initiatives, including Epic optimizations, software implementations, and the creation of financial clearance policies, consistently delivering high-impact results.

Additionally, Peter managed day-to-day patient access operations for a 12-hospital health system on the West Coast, where he honed his expertise in improving the patient financial experience.

Amber Cooper

Financial Advocacy Specialist

Amber started her healthcare career in Long-Term Care pharmacy, later moving to Specialty pharmacy where she earned experience in pharmacy billing, prior authorizations, 340B, and patient financial assistance. She has acquired her National Certification for Pharmacy Technician through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board and received her Associate of Applied Science degree in pharmacy from Mountwest Community and Technical College in 2014.

She has developed 10 years of pharmacy experience with the last 5 years primarily focused on Specialty Pharmacy. She enjoys utilizing her expertise and knowledge to provide assistance to patients in need of financial advocacy, helping to provide a more attainable and affordable path to patients with high out of pocket costs. Amber states, “It’s truly rewarding to me to help patients with life-altering conditions find resources available to assist in lowering their overall medical and drug costs and in turn helping these patients live a better quality of life.”

Alyssa Swanson

Financial Advocacy Specialist

Alyssa joined the Qualify Health team in October 2022 as a Prior Authorization and Financial Advocacy Specialist. Alyssa began her career as at an Ohio-based Hematology and /or Oncology practice, where she developed expertise in all aspects of the Prior Authorization and Medical Billing process. During this time, she also played a key role in the practice’s advocacy services where she sourced funds for patient co-pay assistance.

Alyssa truly enjoys the feeling of having such a positive contribution to patient care; whether it is by ensuring they receive their treatments on time via her prior authorization expertise or finding ways to help them pay for their treatments. When Alyssa isn’t working, she is busy spending time with her growing family, 4 cats, and a nameless fish.

Jaclyn M Kinney, CPC

Financial Advocacy Specialist

Jaclyn joined Qualify Health, bringing over 15 years of experience in several areas of the healthcare industry. She worked for over ten years at the Cancer Center of Central Connecticut, a part of Hartford Healthcare. Jaclyn specialized in patient relations for Hematology/Oncology.There, she acquired extensive knowledge in prior authorizations, insurance billing, and coding for chemotherapy and infusion treatments. Jaclyn also developed and implemented the practice’s Patient Financial Advocacy Program, which utilizes pharmaceutical financial programs and grants.

She is a graduate of Branford Hall Institute, where she earned a certificate as a Professional Coder through the American Academy of Professional Coders.Jaclyn is a lifelong resident of Wolcott, Connecticut, where she resides with her husband and two sons. For many years, she was a dance instructor and choreographer and still loves sharing her love of dance with young people. Her passion for helping patients afford the treatment that they need is evident in her work. Jaclyn believes nothing is more rewarding than assisting patients to relieve their financial burden.

Christie Summey

Patient Financial Advocate

Christie joined Qualify Health in June 2023, bringing with her 25 years of experience in different varieties of pharmacy, which includes long-term care, inpatient, retail, chemotherapy IV mixing, and most recently, Medication Assistance Program Specialist, where she managed free drug and copay programs for three hospitals and multiple doctor offices.

Christie has been a Nationally Certified Pharmacy Technician for 23 years and has an Associate Degree in Nursing. Her favorite thing about this work is hearing the relief and excitement in her patients’ voices when she informs them of the financial assistance they have qualified for and that she has helped them obtain. Christie enjoys reading and porch sitting on summer nights in her spare time with her two Boston Terriers, Bodi and Roxy.

Wendy Milburn

Patient Financial Advocate

Wendy joined the Qualify Health team of Advocates in August 2023. She began her healthcare career as a Pharmacy Technician in 2003, working in retail Pharmacy for over 20 years. Wendy acquired her NC State Pharmacy Technician License in 2003, then went on to further her education by receiving a National Certification through the National Board of Pharmacy. In 2021, Wendy transitioned to a Consumer Medication Coordinator, where she gained experience with Patient Assistance Programs, Prior Authorizations, and much more.

In her present role with Qualify Health, her focus is to help people gain access to and afford the medications they need. Wendy says she has always had a strong passion for healthcare and loves being able to help people afford healthcare and medications. When Wendy isn’t working, she spends time with her son and daughter, enjoying the mountain life in North Carolina.

Christine Williams

Patient Advocacy Manager

Christine joined Qualify Health in Fall 2023 and has worked in the healthcare industry for nearly 10 years. Christine began her career in New Jersey as a Medicaid/Charity Care Eligibility Specialist, where she assisted patients with enrollments and ensured state compliance in both programs. When she moved to the mid-west in 2018, she joined a local Oncology/Hematology Office where she gained additional knowledge in Patient Assistance programs, Prior authorization, appeal processes, insurance billing, as well as Social Security Disability. Here Christine also helped implement the Standard Processes and Operations for Patient Financial Navigators, within the Mercy Health Network. She is passionate about finding ways to alleviate financial toxicity, so patients can focus on the importance of healing.

When she is not working she and her husband are home with their 2 dogs (Ace and Deuce) and cat (Ollie), soaking up as much nature as possible and starting their journey of traveling the world.
